How do you usually deal with pain or sickness? If you think medicine is the only way to heal, well itโs not. There are a lot of factors that contribute to oneโs sickness. Maybe you have dairy issues, or soy issues. And while you might get rid of those foods that youโre sensitive to, you could still be dealing with relationship issues or trauma, which could play a huge part as well. That is why having a holistic approach to treating any kind of pain or sickness is important in maintaining your overall well-being.
Joining todayโs conversation is Amanda Love, a registered holistic nutritionist. Amanda teaches women how to cook simple but delicious, allergy-friendly, healthy meals, and she integrates a holistic approach through mind-body-spirit.ย
Born six weeks early, Amanda was growing up getting sick all the time โ with sinus infections, sore throats, and whatnot. She looked completely normal but why would she be so sick for 10 days at a time? In 2010, Amanda was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, a disorder that is characterized by โwidespread musculoskeletal pain accompanied by fatigue, sleep, memory, and mood issues.โ
In this conversation, Amanda talks about her symptoms with fibromyalgia, some treatments that she has tried โ what didnโt work, and the things that work best for her to manage her pain and symptoms. Hopefully, at the end of this episode, you will learn one thing or two that you can prioritize in your life to help you feel better โ because thatโs the goal!
In this episode, you will hear:
- The possible correlation between immunity and being born premature
- Amandaโs story of fibromyalgia and how bad her symptoms were
- Factors that affect gut sensitivity
- Things that didnโt work to alleviate her symptoms
- Things that work for her: food, sleep, trauma healing
- Ways to promote better sleep
